Maui Jim - Thousand Peaks Polarized Sunglasses Blue Frame/Neutral Gray Lens Review

I really needed a pair of sunglasses that were light enough to wear for hours at a time and that didn't pinch the area between my eyes, leave little red marks on my nose/cheeks, or squeeze my head too tightly. These seemed to do the trick when I tried them on, but, at over $400 at the time & by how fragile they seemed (so flexible and light), I was really afraid that I'd break them within the first couple of weeks. That was over 18 months ago. I wear them everyday, for hours each day.

Pros:
1. Comfort - We were working and living in a beach condo that barely had any walls - just tons and tons of windows. I found myself wearing these glasses indoors, rather than squint all day. I was honestly wearing them for over 10 hours per day, and I'd forget that I even had them on unless I passed by a mirror.
2. Color differentiation and HD effect - Without these sunglasses and with other sunglasses, the ocean always looked like one massive expanse of medium blue with maybe a few spots that were a tad lighter. However, with these Maui Jims, I could definitely see the different bands of blue in the ocean. I could even see details of reefs where the water only appears darker when I don't have these on. Once, when I took a submarine ride in Cairns (it was relatively dark in the sub and the water was murky), I was pointing out sea turtles and all kinds of fish & the guide & other passengers were only seeing as shadows in the murky water. I passed my glasses to the guide, and she was horrified that she had missed so much detail and swore she was going out to buy Maui Jims as soon as her shift was over.
3. Fit - I'm rather petite and my husband is a foot taller than me. Our head sizes differ accordingly. Each of us can wear this pair (probably due to how flexible it is and how it shapes to your head) without worrying about them falling off or slipping during strenuous activity.

Now that the price has come down significantly, I'm going to order another pair, just in case they are discontinued by the time I lose my first pair!

For color, I would it give 5 stars...AWESOME with a tan. It is a darker coral than shown in the photos... more like a neon coral. But I like that. AND let's all support MADE IN THE USA!!! However, I continue to struggle, trying to figure out is Ujena sizing... I have ordered several different suits... Reading other reviews, I ordered 2 sizes bigger on top, to achieve that looser look shown on the model.. I am a 38DD and the 3x fits in the bust area nicely, however the bottom portion of the top is about 4 -5 inches too long, more like a form fitting swimdress, not a tankini. The inner lining, meant to be a miminizer, is almost as loose as the outer top, so I wouldn't count on that to help hold you in. I don't need it so I will probably remove it and possibly hem the top. Another note, if you're super modest, you should know the bust portion, while lined, is thin. "Nips" are visible. As for the bottom, I normally order a 1x however with Ujena I have learned the bottoms need about 1 size up...usually, however, these are so large I couldn't wear them in a pool without a "wardrobe malfunction." Plus, the little ties on the side are cute and are functional to scrunch the sides. They draw attention to your thighs. So if your confident in that area, go for it. I am ordering a different style bottom as I am not really thrilled with my thighs. :-) Listen, no woman's body is exactly the same, and so, I will continue to shop Ujena because I can buy the larger top and smaller bottom. One day, I will figure out the mystery of their sizing and I will share it!!

Pearl Izumi Men's Pro Barrier WxB Jacket,Black/Black,X-Large Review

I bought this jacket in November '11. I was hard crossed between this jacket and the Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell jacket. After some back and forth I decided I liked the styling and weatherproofing on this jacket better. It didn't offer much warmth, but layering would take care of that.

Initially I loved this jacket. The fit is great, it looks great, it's comfortable to ride in and the weatherproofing was excellent. Water would just bead up and run off.

After 7 months of wear I have some issues with the jacket.

First, the collar isn't tight enough and it doesn't have a cinch cord. So you have a loose collar hanging around your neck where wind and water can enter.

Next, the threading around the collar started coming out. This happened after about 1 month of wear. For >$300, I expect better.

Finally, it appears the waterproofing on the jacket is gone. I rode in the rain several times in the past few weeks and it appears the jacket not only fails to repel water, but actually _absorbs_ it. My arms were soaking wet this morning.

I love a lot of things about this jacket, but for the price I expected better build quality and more durable waterproofing.

I might send this in for warranty.

After EXTENSIVE review, both on-line and in the stores, I decided to purchase this set for my wife. I have had it for nearly a year and have to say that it has held up very well. I love how it stacks so as not to take up to much space in our closet. It is an eye-catcher for sure and we get tons of complements at airports on it's looks. Taken three flights and two road trips so far with it and it is holding up well. The large suitcase is as big as I had hoped. I was initially afraid it might be a little on the smaller "large" size, but I am quite pleased with volume it will hold for long trips.
The wheels (the usual weak-link in the world of luggage) seem to be very well constructed and roll smoothly (as to imply high quality bearings were used).
As another writer suggested, I would Scotchguard the fabric upon receiving them. The orange nylon fabric can be marred by the baggage conveyor belts (no more than other luggage) and is akin to the first dent/scratch on your new car. Ouch!!
Would definitely buy again.

Indian Maiden Costume - XX-Large - Dress Size Review

I am pleased with this costume. First it came three days before the expected delivery date. Then I tried it on and it fit me perfectly just like the size chart had said. It flatters my plus size body just like I wanted it to. The printed bead work is very pretty. The only things I would have changed is the way the fringe almost Velcros to everything and how short it is on the sides. It come all the way up to my butt. I'll just wear some tan leggings. I still really love this costume.
