Gino Valentino Made in Italy Mens Suit 3 Button 2pc Canvas Front Jacket Italian Suit Australian Merino Wool / Silk 150s Black with Stripe (48 Long) Review

I need to preface this by saying that just a few weeks prior to buying my first suit from Darya, I had purchased a $1000 Ralph Lauren suit from Dillards on sale for $500. Then I discovered Darya Trading through a link on [...] and looked at their suits, but was very leery about buying a SUIT online. A million things could go wrong, right? But after going through all the suits listed, the WORST review I could find was a 4/5, so I decided to take the chance, thinking it might be worth the gamble on return shipping. I bought 2. When they arrived three days later, I was floored! They were GORGEOUS and fit like a glove! They're all made in Milan (my RL suit was made in China - seriously), they taper beautifully, the fabric is literally smooth as butter, and much of the finish work is done BY HAND!! - I can't say enough about them. Then I took them to my tailor for the trousers to be hemmed. He asked me how much I paid for them and his jaw literally dropped. "This is a G. Valentino suit! This is MADE IN ITALY! This suit would cost ME over $300, and I would have to sell it for $599! You paid HOW MUCH!?" Then he pointed out all the fine detail and hand-work on it, while he kept shaking his head in disbelief. Then he said sadly, "Someone is losing a lot of money on these. The economy is so bad, I'm sure someone is buying a warehouse full of them just to move them out."

Well long story short, I purchased the two and after they were tailored and worn, I couldn't stand it and bought two more. . . and I have my eye on TWO MORE! I own three Valentino (wool/silk) and one Luciano (wool/cashmere). After hemming all four pair of trousers, the tailor said the Valentino suits would EASILY equate to a Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss or other New York Designer. But he said the Luciano was crafted so well being fully canvased with genuine horsehair and most of it was made by HAND, he said it was every bit as fine as a Georgio Armani and he could easily sell it in his shop for $1200. I've had the suits a few weeks now and have been hesitant to rate them here because I've been wanting to keep them a secret for my friends. But they're all buying them now too, so it's time for the secret to get out. Anyway, I'm completely sold. Here are four suits I can honestly say are worth MORE than every penny I paid. I bought a pair of these from this company a year ago. 3 months later the polarization began to seperate from the inside of both lenses. So I mailed them back to Revo with the original receipt and box from amazon. Revo then informed me that Affordable Luxury Is not a AUTHORIZED REVO DEALER and that infact my glasses were KNOCK OFF'S Hence voiding any warranty through them. So I then tried to contact Affordable Luxury about this issue to no avail.Meaning after explaining what had happened in full On several e-mail attempts I recieved no reply. I have since repurchased this same style at my local SUNGLASS HUT Who is a Authorized Revo dealer. About 80 bucks more but well worth it to own the "REAL DEAL" that comes with a full warranty. These glasses are fantastic, I could definitely tell the difference in the quality of the lenses from the first pair.The clarity is amazing it is like HD and the frames are so light you sometimes forget you are wearing them. Santa Claus Suit (Crimson Imperial Plush) Christmas Costume Size X-Large (XL) Review

A Christian expression says, "Jesus is the reason for the season" and nothing expresses that sentiment better than Rubie's Crimson color Santa suit with faux fur trim. Unlike the common red or newer burgandy suits, the subtle purple hints at the royalty of the Christ Child's birth. A suit such as this compells Santa to remind people of the TRUE meaning of Christmas.

I looked at a number of suits online and almost went with a professional suit combo costing between $600 to $700. The Crimson color really sold me on this one. The outside of the suit is plush and soft as can be. The coat easily zips up and snaps at the ends of the fur trim. Add some extra stitching to secure the snaps in place as they seem a bit loose. It is otherwise near mall Santa quality.

Lack of a lining inside the suit makes it rough against bare skin. Since the suit is very warm when you are fully dressed, find a thin cotton leotard, or something with long sleeves to wear underneath. The suit is colorfast Lux-Seal� and the label says "Dry clean only". I would also ask the dry cleaner to go light on the chemicals as not to discolor the suit. They may be able to add a comfortable lining for you.

When it arrives, pull out your vaccuum and gently suction the whole suit inside and out to reduce the shedding. No lint brushes as they pull out more fur. Rubie's has this suit with matted fur which is cleaner, but it just isn't the same.

The spats (fake boot tops) are of great quality but work best for shoe sizes 11 or smaller. It was a stretch to get them to cover my size 12 shoes. There is no elastic to secure the tips. The spats help you suit up quickly but can ruin the whole look. There is nothing like a real pair of Santa boots. Amazon has a great pair for under $45. Spend the extra money and you won't regret it. Keep in mind the "professional Santa boots" are not exact sizes. Use padded insoles for extra comfort.

The pleather belt is of fair quality with a nice golden buckle, though better exist. The brass grommets ensure the holes will not tear. There are no belt loops on the suit so tighten the belt enough to stay up on its own. There are no pockets of any kind.

Older gentlemen with gray hair and generous belly proportions can save some money on the extras. But don't get cheap now. Expect to pay +/- $300 to fully outfit the suit. You may need to buy from various vendors but it is worth it. This is a great quality built suit which should last for decades with proper care and treatment.

* Santa Glasses
* White Parade gloves with snaps or extra long. (I bought one of each.)
* Padded belly
* Professional boots.
* False eyebrows or brow whitener
* A quality hair-like wig and beard set. Get one which can be combed and hand washable. Use unscented hair spray to keep the hairs in place. Scented spray can make breathing difficult.

Helpful Santa bag tip:
I'll let you in on a secret. I bought a golden curtain sash to modify a "professional" Santa toy bag. Shiny bag material best compliments the sash. Real Santas do not use tacky bags declaring "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas". Use a solid color bag with optional white trim.

Pull out one rope end from the tassel and unravel. It should be over 6' long. Tie the gold rope to the old rope and remove any pom-pom like device. Pull the new rope through while pulling out the old. Use household glue to hold the rope back inside the tassel.

Only carry the full bag by the rope and not the tassel as the rope will pull out. Nor are tassels designed to carry heavy weights. Viola'! A distinctive bag worthy of Kris Kringle himself. HO HO HO!

Addendum 12/27/08 Sat:

Today I played Santa for our Cousins dinner party at a restaurant. Management played "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as I made my entrance. Mind you, making the proper entrance is half the show aside from having a great suit.

EVERYONE loved the suit. So much so that most of them missed the fact I had authentic Santa boots. But don't pass on the boots for that reason. It really completes the suit, as well as a great beard and wig.

As expected, kids took pictures with Santa. Amazingly, then the adults wanted pictures with Santa, too! They simply never had this kind of Santa experience. Again, you have to play the part but the beauty of the Crimson suit with fur attracts people. Well worth the money for the experience.
